Using Emojis and Polls

Trendter has a built-in emoji picker and a native poll creator — both available directly in any post composer.

Opening the Emoji Picker

Click the 😊 button in any text composer — posts, replies, DMs, quote posts, and the Community Verdict textarea. The picker opens inline on desktop and as a bottom sheet on mobile.

Emoji Categories

  • 🕐 Recently Used — Your last 32 emojis (appears after first use, stored locally)
  • 😀 Smileys & People
  • 👋 Gestures & Body
  • 🐱 Animals & Nature
  • 🍕 Food & Drink
  • Activities & Sports
  • ✈️ Travel & Places
  • 💡 Objects
  • ❤️ Symbols & Hearts
  • 🏳️ Flags — 190+ country and regional flags

Searching for an Emoji

Type any keyword in the search box at the top of the picker — "fire", "love", "cricket", "pakistan", "laugh" — and matching emojis appear instantly.

Creating a Poll

  1. Click the 📊 Poll button in the post composer.
  2. Type your poll question in the main post text area.
  3. Add 2 to 4 answer options.
  4. Set the poll duration: 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days.
  5. Click Post. The poll is live immediately.

Polls display live results as votes come in. After the duration ends, voting closes and only final results are shown.

💡 Poll Tip: Ask clear, specific questions with distinct options. "Which framework do you prefer: React or Vue?" performs better than "What do you think about web development?". Good polls get shared and generate discussion in the replies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are emojis compatible with all devices and operating systems? +
Trendter uses standard Unicode emojis which render on all modern browsers, operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android), and screen readers.
Can I use emojis in hashtags? +
Some emoji hashtags work, but they are not consistently searchable across all devices. For reliable discoverability, use text-based hashtags.
Where is my recently-used emoji history stored? +
Recently-used emojis are stored in your browser's localStorage. If you clear browser data or switch browsers, your recent history resets. It is device-specific, not synced across devices.
Can I vote on my own poll? +
No. Poll creators cannot vote in their own polls.
Can I change my vote after casting it? +
Poll votes cannot be changed after casting. Choose your option carefully.
Can I see who voted in my poll? +
Poll results show vote counts and percentages per option, but individual voter identities are private — you cannot see who voted for which option.
Can I delete a poll before it expires? +
You can delete the post containing the poll via the ··· menu. Deletion is immediate and permanent, including all votes.
What happens if a poll ends in a tie? +
Tied options are displayed with equal percentage and vote counts. Trendter does not break ties — both options show as equal winners.
Is there a limit to how many polls I can create? +
There is no limit on polls. You can create one poll per post (a post cannot have more than one poll).
