  • The report is completely anonymous — the reported user never sees who filed the report.
  • If upheld, action is taken on the content and the account.
🛡️ Urgent Safety Issues: For immediate threats, self-harm content, or child safety concerns, email hello@trendter.com with subject "URGENT: Safety Report" — this goes to a priority queue reviewed within hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the person I reported find out it was me? +
No. Reports are completely anonymous. The reported user never sees who reported them or what reason was selected.
What if my report is dismissed? +
If our team determines the content does not violate guidelines, no action is taken. You can email support directly if you believe a serious violation was missed.
Can I report a user's profile (not just a post)? +
Currently, reporting is available on individual posts. For profile-level concerns (impersonation, etc.), use the Contact form and describe the issue.
Does reporting automatically remove the post? +
No. Reporting flags the post for review and reduces its feed score but does not immediately remove it. Removal requires a moderation decision.
Can I see the status of my report? +
Report status notifications are not currently sent back to reporters. Action may have been taken even if you did not receive a direct update.
What if someone is using a fake account impersonating me? +
Select "Other" when reporting and describe the impersonation. For confirmed impersonation by a verified identity, email support with evidence (ID, official website link, etc.).
How many reports does it take to remove a post? +
There is no automatic removal threshold. Each report reduces the post's feed score by −20 and flags it for human review. Final action is always a human moderation decision.
Can I report a private account's posts? +
You can report any post visible to you, including posts from private accounts you follow.
What is the penalty for submitting false reports? +
Abusing the report system to harass users (false reporting) is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in your own account being sanctioned.
