Types of Notifications on Trendter
Trendter notifies you in real time when people interact with your account or content. Here is a complete breakdown of every notification type.
Notification Types
- ❤️ Like — Someone liked one of your posts.
- 🔁 Repost — Someone reposted your post to their followers.
- 💬 Reply — Someone replied to your post or a thread you are in.
- ↩️ Quote Repost — Someone quoted your post with their own commentary.
- @ Mention — Someone @mentioned you in a post.
- 👤 Follow — Someone followed your account.
- 🔔 Follow Request — (Private accounts only) Someone requested to follow you.
- ✉️ Message — Someone sent you a direct message.
- 💭 Take — Someone added their take on your opinion post.
- ✅ Verification — A decision on your verification request (approved or rejected).
The Notification Badge
The 🔔 badge on the sidebar icon shows the total count of unread notifications PLUS pending follow requests (for private accounts). The badge clears when you open the Notifications page.
Viewing Notifications
- Click 🔔 Notifications in your left sidebar.
- Notifications appear in reverse chronological order.
- For follow requests, you can Accept or Decline directly from the notification card.
💡 Note: There is currently no way to disable specific notification types. All notifications are active. Granular notification controls are planned for a future settings update.

Can I turn off specific notification types?
Granular notification controls are in development. Currently, all notification types are active. Email notification preferences can be managed in Settings → Notifications.
How long do notifications stay in my inbox?
Notifications are kept indefinitely. Your full notification history is always available in the Notifications page.
Why am I not seeing notifications I expect?
Check: (1) Is the person who should notify you blocked? Blocked users' actions do not generate notifications. (2) Did the person delete the post or action? Notifications from deleted content may not appear. (3) Try refreshing the Notifications page.
Do I get notified when someone reposts my post?
Yes. You receive a 🔁 Repost notification whenever someone reposts your content, including plain reposts and quote reposts.
If I reply to a long thread, do I get notified for every reply?
You are notified when someone replies directly to YOUR post in the thread. You are not notified for every reply in a thread you participated in — only direct replies to your specific posts.
How do I see my follow requests?
Follow requests are visible in Notifications and also on the dedicated Follow Requests page at trendter.com/follow-requests.
Do notifications from private accounts look different?
No. Notifications look identical regardless of account type. If you receive a notification from a user whose content you cannot see, it may be from a private account you do not follow.
Can I clear all notifications at once?
A "Mark all as read" button is available at the top of the Notifications page.
Will I get a notification if someone screenshots my post?
No. Trendter does not detect or notify for screenshots.
