Creating Your Own Trend Community
Any Trendter user can create their own Trend community. Here is how to set one up and keep it thriving.
Creating a New Trend
- Go to trendter.com/trend.
- Click Create New Trend.
- Fill in the required details:
- Name — The display name (e.g., "Cricket Fans of Pakistan")
- Slug — The URL handle (e.g., "cricket-pakistan" → trendter.com/t/cricket-pakistan). Auto-generated but editable.
- Description — What is this community about? Who is it for?
- Cover Image — Optional banner for the Trend page.
- Invite Only — Toggle ON to require an invitation to join.
- Click Create Trend.
Moderator Powers
As the creator, you can:
- Edit the Trend's name, description, and cover image anytime.
- Set Daily Topics to prompt community discussion.
- Remove posts from the Trend feed that violate guidelines.
- Toggle Invite Only — open or close the community at any time.
- Delete the entire Trend (irreversible).
💡 Growth Tip: For the first few weeks, set a compelling Daily Topic every day and personally respond to it. Activity from the moderator signals to the algorithm that the community is active, helping attract new members.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I transfer ownership of a Trend to someone else?
Trend ownership transfer is not currently available. Only the original creator can moderate the Trend.
Can I make a Trend invite-only after it is already public?
Yes. Go to the Trend edit page and toggle "Invite Only" ON. Existing members keep their access; new members will need an invitation.
How do I grow my Trend?
Post regularly using the Trend's hashtag, set engaging Daily Topics, share the Trend URL on other platforms, and invite people directly by sharing your Trend's URL.
Is there a minimum member count required to keep a Trend active?
No. Trends remain active regardless of member count. However, Trends with no activity may rank lower in discovery pages.
Can someone steal my Trend's slug?
No. Once a slug is registered to a Trend, it is locked to that Trend permanently.
How do I delete a post from my Trend that I did not write?
As moderator, go to the post within your Trend feed, click the ··· menu, and select "Remove from Trend". This removes it from the community feed without deleting the user's post from their own profile.
Can I have more than one Trend?
Yes. You can create and moderate multiple Trends simultaneously.
What is the maximum character length for a Trend slug?
Slugs must be between 3 and 80 characters, using lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
